Contemporary

Contemporary is offered from 7 or 8 years of age through to an Advanced level.  We study the bbodance Contemporary syllabus and exams are held in September each year.  Exams are not compulsory, but the syllabus offers great technique and style which helps the students when it comes to performing.

The bbodance syllabus also has a creative learning strand which allows the students to work on their choreographic skills and learn about the history of dance.  Once the exams have been sat each year the students will experience open classes and begin learning their dances for the showcase.

Prices range from $52.50 per month, for a 60 minute class once a week.

"My daughter is definitely NOT a girly-girl and I don't consider myself to be a "dance mum" so I was a bit nervous when she decided she wanted to learn musical theatre and contemporary dance at the Sara Anderson School of Dance.

To my surprise and delight, she has continued learning to dance here for over two years and she is improving in grace, strength and physicality, but more important than that she just loves going to classes.

And I feel welcome too! Definitely no pretentions here at this dance school. I highly recommend it.
